If ML algorithms can't be biased, why are we trying to debias them? Let's focus on the real problems instead.

The way I see it, ppl are making "safety pins" so we can be sure algos do not take decision deemed as "wrong"! It is not "debiasing"!

Data is intrinsically biased. ML learns from biased data. How is this not a real problem? How is this not a method towards generalization?
