The study he's talking about only looked at hiring decisions involving "identically qualified" male and female applicants. It says nothing about less-qualified women getting hired over more-qualified men.

As a hiring manager, I *do* choose female candidates over males if they're otherwise identical, for two reasons: a qualified woman probably had to work harder to obtain those identical credentials (c.f. the prof who started this thread), and I'm fixing unjust demographics.

These people keep skipping over the "identical credentials" part as though those words weren't there, which of course they do because in their minds there's no such thing.

You're the one who said the situation I described is impossible and can't happen in the real world, so I'm not too worried.
