If you think to yourself: Why are conservatives so skeptical of "science," then ask yourself what the New York Times would say about the social sciences if 95% of professors were conservatives and 80% were Trump voters.
It's not a fact, it's a theory (that I believe in), and it's not incontrovertible, because nothing in science is. If you believe it's incontrovertible, it's a dogma to you. Have a nice day.

Not true, natural selection is a theory that explains the process of evolution (well and long established fact.) Incontrovertible and dogma are different words. There are some things that are incontrovertible.

We are lucky Germ theory of disease does not refute any religious nonsense or require government interventions, there would be tons of conservative think tanks claiming that Louis Pasteur was a leftist fraud and bacteria do not exist.
