Don’t say that callously to someone that has 2 kids in college (1 freshman, 1 sophomore ) & each costs $30,000 per year. I owed close to $90,000 of parent-plus loan now.
There's no student debt problem. The problem is skyrocketing costs and useless degrees.

The banks need to have skin in the game too. The student should only be liable to pay back a certain portion of their paychecks for a few yrs. If they are unemployable then the bank takes a hit. This will also force colleges to adjust prices for frivolous courses.

Idk why serious people don’t see this as the obvious answer. Get government out of student loans. Allow students to file bankruptcy (after ___ yrs) if the degree didn’t work out. The problem would solve itself.

In some schools some people hear answers to exam questions and score great results, that's why Jim crow exempted black ppl from white schools. Even black ppl like me who passed in school without eavesdropping are discriminated because we Don eavesdrop

Colleges know they can make a lot of money by accepting students who otherwise wouldn't qualify for useful degrees (laws, finance, medicine, education, etc) and offer them useless degrees that have no practical uses in real life.

My Masters course was so useless and excessively theoretical that I almost consider it to have been a scam. But I still wouldn't expect other taxpayers to forgive the debt, it was my own choice.
