Your brain’s knowledge of physics is in many ways more sophisticated than any physics textbook’s.
So what? QFT is also based on our intuitive visual understanding of things like the double-slit experiment. You’re overestimating the power of formal math and underestimating the power of the brain’s algorithms, which operating directly on quantum data would blow away QFT.

Quite the contrary: QFT is not based on intuition. The fact that interference happens even for single particles (or any other non-local feature of QFT) simply violates human intuition. QFT is quintessentially a mathematical construction, inaccessible to human intuition. 1/2
