@JDHaltigan By requiring the laws to respect symmetries, you can massively reduce the viable set of laws, often to end up with only a single unique solution. This happens a lot in physics.

Reality itself is symmetric. Yes, you can use that as an inductive bias, but the symmetries in reality came before the symmetries as an inductive bias.
