The world is discrete, and computers are discrete. Cut out the middleman (continuous math).

This is what Stephen Wolfram is trying to do at the foundations of physics, and it is interesting, although very incipient. But it is irrelevant for macroscopic physics; e.g., to model an electric engine or an airplane.
That’s one approach. Continuous math certainly has a range of domains where it’s an extremely successful approximation. But we shouldn’t try to shoehorn others (e.g., AI) into it.
