The idea that continuous math is a hindrance is absurd. Even if one assumes limitless computing power, we still need to understand phenomena in way to feed it to computers.
What’s absurd is a discrete approximation to a continuous model of a discrete reality.

When you say a discrete reality, what do you mean? Like we should model complex systems by tracking fundamental particles, or just come up with new discrete models pretending calculus was never invented. For a concrete example: How would you model a climate system?
