On the contrary. They had by far the best expertise at the outset, they had the means, and their program could well have succeeded.

ok, perhaps wrong. but thought best scientists, Heisenberg apart, were elsewhere. and mainly think it unlikely because Nazi regime was a mess in terms of organisation and prioritising. and their security and intelligence was hopeless.
