This is quite a shocking sentiment coming from a professor. Although ignoring the ethical implications of AI has been a part of this field since its inception in Minsky's labs, I would expect more critical thinking from a POC teaching the next generation.

I'm not talking about real ethics. I'm talking about the ideology masquerading as ethics we currently have in AI.

people will literally look at attempts to remove racial bias in AI and call it ideology like that's a meaningful criticism. of course it implies an ideological position: implicitly, so does racial bias.

imagine thinking you occupy some moral high ground bc you're attempting to mitigate the bias in a technology used by capitalist bankpigs to exploit the poor. it's like being a masseuse at auschwitz.
