That's one view, but their work is important to our field. My AI work is in legal field and I have to tell you that if more software engineers stopped to think about ethics, or asked an ethicist's input, they wouldn't fail so spectacularly when it mattered most.
Don't confuse real ethics with the ideology that passes itself off as ethics in AI.

I assume you are twitting from a POV where we acknowledge people actively working for misinformation/disinformation, but "your" line between real ethics and ideology feels very clinic and "academic". My POV is if you have a brain you have bias and an ideology.
