Why would a Brazilian Justice Minister return to the USA a few months after an official visit, right in the middle of a major political scandal? And where the scandal was about an operation that we now know had the direct involvement of US intelligence agencies?

I didn’t blame *all* of Brazil’s problems on the US. I made two specific and nuanced claims, the second being that there’s “some reason” to think that without the US influence we would not have had Bolsonaro. But I’ll revise that claim: there’s abundant reason.

Brazil has plenty of problems of its own doing, and Brazilians are the first to admit that. But recall that the discussion is about America’s influence on the world. I’ve given two examples of negative American influence in Brazil. What do you say in favour of it being positive?
