Einstein almost single-handedly turned the world of theoretical physics on its head. Von Neumann's contributions, although extremely impressive, were more incremental in nature. But probably the greatest polymath of the 20th century.
Game theory? Von Neumann architecture? Incremental? I'd kill to make incremental contributions like that.

While that’s very impressive, giving Special & General Theory of Relativity and also the photo-electric effect to found QM is insane - Einstein nearly single-handed lay founded the two pillars of modern physics and there were various other contributions that would be 1/2

Life making/era defining for others (EPR paradox, Tenson equations for GR etc), they aren’t even on the list of what he is remembered for. Von-Neumann was very impressive in his own way, but Einstein founded the fabric on which modern science dances. No comparison. 2/2
