Reality check: no one has ever built a quantum computer with qubits lasting more than a tiny fraction of a second, and quite possibly they never will.

You started with an important premise - that building QCs is VERY hard, and that many systems (like those from Goog/IBM) do have microsecond coherence times. But you made a specific factual assertion about current and future status of QC that's not correct. Have a good day.

Curious why when presented with lots of instances of qubits with seriously long coherences your focus is on them not being “true” quantum computers currently rather than the fact that it makes your “and they likely never will” statement look extremely hollow
