Fwiw Fredkin told me that the actual resolution limit of the universe is closer to a Fermi. Planck scale is the result of triangulating the position of extended particles to subpixel resolution. :)

Poetic. The opposite may be true: natural numbers (0s and 1s) are the artefacts. Plank energies, times, and lengths aren't about discrete things, but rather limits on resolutions.

Planck scale aside, all the finest observations we can make are Boolean (e.g., photon detection).

For one thing, bits are incapable of generating any such thing as a scale. For another, bits can't generate any aesthetic qualities. They have no way to 'seem' like anything but invisible logical states. It's the hard problem/explanatory gap.

Yes, but you can't probe beyond the Planck scale without creating a black hole that prevents information from getting out, so one way or another it ends there.
