The claim that state-funded child care is better for the children is ludicrous. Who do you think takes better care of a child - the mother, or someone who's getting paid a very low wage to do it?

Raise the wage or pay the mother.

No. The wage is unaffordable, and the mother doesn’t need to be paid.

Why can't a society recognise the work mothers do and pay them for raising that society's future? If we look at state funding purely as incentives for the people to do certain activities (we've got billions for fossil fuel subsidies but can't incentivise kids getting educated)
