The claim that state-funded child care is better for the children is ludicrous. Who do you think takes better care of a child - the mother, or someone who's getting paid a very low wage to do it?

Why can't a society recognise the work mothers do and pay them for raising that society's future? If we look at state funding purely as incentives for the people to do certain activities (we've got billions for fossil fuel subsidies but can't incentivise kids getting educated)
Econ 101: Paying people for what they will do for free is a waste of money.

Except it's not free, is it ? It actually cost money of the mother doesn't work for a wage. Also the cost of living has gone so high, both mum and dad have no choice but to work.
