I'm curious, do you have any numbers to back that up? To me, the ramifications of climate change seem manifold and indeed rather expensive (flood protection, relocating a lot of people, damages through heavy weather etc.). I'm not sure we can simply adapt to all of that?

There are known costs and unknown costs. Adaptation results in a more different world and as a result, has less known costs than decarbonization, but more unknown and difficult-to-quantify costs. Still, there is an optimum.
