A huge problem is that CRT, as used by both proponents and opponents, no longer means what it did originally--studying the role of institutions in racism. Now it means "Kendi-ism," much more radical.
Calling race indoctrination in schools CRT is like calling political propaganda critical theory. (To which the propagandists can then reply “Lies! We’re not promoting critical theory! Nothing to see here!”)

What they really mean is "primary school educational practices that are the result of CRT influences", but that doesn't work from a *branding* perspective (and people don't have the attention span for all that).
