Neither. Deep learning is successful and it does indeed possibly overshadow other parts of AI. However, deep learning itself is expanding. So while some fields in AI are possibly shrinking, AI as a whole is not. But what deep learning does is not what other kinds of AI do.
Is deep learning expanding to fill AI, or AI shrinking to circumscribe itself to it?

Intelligence is that process that sustains life, deep learning is modelled only a part of nature; the brain. Nature is sustained by more than our brains, ergo deep learning cannot expand to fill artificial intelligence. There are other biological processes at work.
