People will have to compete more to earn lesser than their ancestors. In an ancient world, writing was a rare skill and a person could have survived easily their whole life using it. Today, this isn't possible. The world is stupidly advanced and grotesquely competitive.

Skills learnt over lifetime are rendered useless overnight. Technology makes life easier but at a cost. Today to mere code one needs a laptop, internet, access to market and constantly updated knowledge. Ppl do lose jobs when tech amps itself up. PCs made typewriters obsolete.
