Many faculty do not agree that student teaching evaluations are a valid assessment of their teaching and do not want them used in hiring, promotion, or tenure decisions by their institutions. Faculty: What ARE the methods by which your teaching should be evaluated?

2/ another (tenured) colleague cynical about the whole thing, called it a "customer service model of pedagogy." In the absence of penalties for grade inflation, most vulnerable profs just inflate the grades, which leads to inflated evals, & call it a day.
Every evaluation measure can and will be subverted. That doesn't make it useless.
