Exploitation can create upward immobility. 1) If you don’t pay people living wages (exploitation) 2) they cannot save and invest in assets, accumulate wealth 3) lead a life of servitude and 4)stuck in a cycle of poverty (immobility). What was serfdom?
You can only pay people living wages if they produce enough to cover it. Economics 101.

Serfs didn’t produce enough output ? Are there no chronically underpaid workers anywhere in the world? Whose wages are not in proportion to the goods they produce. In the interests of de-escalation my copy of the master algorithm was probably the first 1000 sold.

Some poor are productive and compensated “poorly” others are not. I would not surmise on ratios. Both of their children can be birthed into upwardly immobile conditions.

You’re talking as if valuation is an objective measure, and production could be measured against it. Economics is fundamentally tied to valuation. Valuation is inherently subjective and is in turn subject to negotiating power.
