Hang on. How do you compare the benefit of consuming less CO2 and have fewer deadly accidents? They don't seem comparable, they are two different measures.

Teslas are among the safest cars on the road. This chart doesn't make sense. Why are the same cars heavier in different countries?
-
They're not. Read the chart.

That sounds like complete bullshit. Heavier (yet also MUCH safer) car better protects the occupants. Tesla makes the highest safety rated car on all measures…
-
Maybe they meant deadlier for the other non-Tesla car

This analysis does not look credible. $68 price is probably a under-estimate of the true environmental cost of carbon. See e.g. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41558-018-0282-y … which estimate it more like $400. The fatality costs are also suspicious. These would not be the same across countries.

For decades, ICE cars have turned into heavier trucks/suvs. Some of these had a tendency to tip over and kill their passengers. Electric cars are bottom heavy and so very stable on the road and tend to be safer for drivers and passengers. I'll stick.

They're less safe for those they crash into.
