The more you believe in the luck of genetics, the more you should believe in the justice of redistributive social programs. But somehow these two beliefs seem quite anti-correlated.

The flaw in his argument is genetic luck plays a MINOR role in the wealth and status that people acquire. In fact it is the attempt at individually fighting this genetic inequality that one acquires most in life, thereby leading to true justice. Redistribution does the OPPOSITE.

The consensus initially believes in you having the short end of the stick in genetic luck. You know that it’s not true — but you must fight to prove it. Redistribution kills that fight.
