Mining the Web to acquire commonsense knowledge is backward. AIs need to acquire commonsense knowledge from real-world experience, and then they’ll be able to understand the Web.

Humans also use a lot of input that is pre-encoded by other humans, through conversation, books… it’s a shortcut. Also many human factors are not directly observable outside of language.
