At the #CERNSparks event I made a point with an embedded joke:
“The quest for ‘Artificial General Intelligence’ (AGI) is a bit like the search for a ‘Theory of Everything’ (ToE), a fundamental theory, or a ‘foundational model’, if you will.”
It didn’t work as well as I had hoped

Why? In which sense? Why is it similar? Why is it a joke? Why didn’t the joke work?

I’m not sure, I thought it wasn’t bad. Maybe fewer people familiar with the “foundation models” than I expected

I would cut out that part and just say that AGI is AI’s ToE. That’ll get a bunch more physicists interested
