I believe we are facing an epidemic of big data. With so many easily accessible data points, any researcher can find data which proves their hypothesis and rush to publish. Sadly this goes against the scientific method where a hypothesis can never be proven true.

what happens in physics is exactly opposite of what happens in AI, AI is about results on dataset without rigorous mathematical explanation while theoretical physics is about rigorous mathematical framework without any experimental proof, you need to balance both.
