I like this, but it really just loops back to common sense and embodiment issues (the AI being solved is human-level awareness and understanding for all things not explicit in the problem space).

Noob here, but can you please explain why they are AI complete? Why self driving is AI complete ? Isn't it pretty Narrow ?

It seems to be, but it's not. It involves every subfield of AI. That's the point.
