The beauty of the Wankel is its simplicity and low part count. The ugly is its inefficiency and unreliability. EVs just need to solve that pesky recharge process and heavy/expensive batteries.
The best thing about electric cars is that the power train has 30 parts instead of 3000.

This is a huge lie. The inverter alone has more than 30 parts in it. In terms of total parts it's not much different. It's the complexity of those parts that makes EVs better. Most the components are very simple and have very little complexity that adds to failures.
