97% of startups fail. I'm not sure about green startups, but I'm sure it's because it has something to with the word "green" in it. Such a yucky word. I'm pretty sure we have the technology to make humans breaths underwater or terraform the earth after it's ruined.

The only thing the “greens” have ever held consistent is energy austerity. If this weren’t the case they would be rabidly pro-nuclear. The startups fail because they’re not the goal and were never going to succeed outside of an energy austerity type of environment

Cleantech it was called. I believed it and joined a group that organized some forums/meetups. Then I saw there was no new tech. The business model was to grab government subsidies before your competition does.
