OpenAI disbanding its robotics group is not unexpected, but it’s a mistake. To go beyond GPT-3’s limited intelligence you need common sense, and to acquire common sense you need robots.

If I understood correctly, their argument is that relevant knowledge could be acquired through simulation as opposed to real-life robotic experience.
