You must listen to experts the same way you listen to everyone: skeptically.

True especially when they are talking about things outside their area of expertise, but be careful to not end up in “reject everything” camp. Real experts exist and they really do know more than you and I.
The point is you should listen to their expertise, but be aware that they have biases, blind spots, political influences, etc., like anyone else.

Of course, but you shouldn’t go to the other extreme of rejecting everything an expert says. When talking to an expert about their expertise in a field where expertise is possible (this excludes all of the arts and soft sciences) I am inclined to listen carefully.
