Progressive taxes, where some pay disproportionately more than others, are the epitome of unfairness.

So a fairer tax is one that in your eyes taxes the poorest more, while the other end of the spectrum won't feel it at all? Hmmm. Neither system can be perfectly fair, but I am not at all swayed by flat tax arguments, given who would *actually lose* under such a system.

A flat tax taxes everyone equally as a fraction of their income, and the rich more in absolute terms. That’s fairer than progressive taxes, IMHO.

Wouldn't a fair tax be a flat tax on utility, which means (something like) progressive taxes?
-
A fair tax is where everyone sacrifices the same (constant) amount of utility, and therefore it's a flat (linear) tax on money.
