3rd: Having picked the low-hanging fruit, the ML modelers realize that the best way to improve performance is to incorporate the long-forgotten domain knowledge.
4th: After acquiring even more data and compute power, the ML modelers realize that they can build even better models ab initio with no domain expertise whatsoever baked in.
