@pmddomingos, you understood what I meant. Wolkswagen and Daimler are highly innovative high-tech companies, including in electronics and software, which is what you had in mind.
I was talking about information technology, obviously. And you know Europe has a big problem there. Even the CEOs of Volkswagen and Daimler know that. So don’t bury your head in the sand.

I don't disagree with that. I just think it's wrong not to consider automotive industry when talking about tech (even when having info tech in mind), as modern auto industry is almost 50% about information technology.
