I used to use SAP a lot in a job I held for twelve years. It replaced an application called Storms.
It's fitting that the only large European tech company, SAP, specializes in bureaucracy.

Volkswagen and Daimler are tech companies (cars are technological products) and much much bigger than SAP. Volkswagen is the 3rd largest R&D spender in the world, surpassed only by Alphabet and Amazon.

And agriculture is also technology, so the developing world is a tech powerhouse.

Apparently we love building bullshit based hierarchies. Individual initiative doesn't sit well with many people here, they feel threatened by it instead of promoting it.

Just my intuition but I think we tend to perceive americans as somewhat individualistic, too competitive, greedy, self centered etc.. I think instead we are too negative and afraid of competition, we see things more through a zero sum perspective.
