There are many schools of thoughts around standardized testing for college admissions. Almost everyone agrees that the current SAT has many flaws. It is reasonable to argue that the solution isn't to get rid of it altogether. However, your analogy is not very apt.

For the simple reason that while a thermometer doesn't aggravate climate change, it can be used to measure it. The SAT (in it's current form) both aggravates educational inequality and it is not a proxy for measuring educational inequality.
