Thats where capitalism comes in. If there's someone somewhere to sell something to, the capitalist can't help themselves. Eventually they'll capitulate just to get their foot in the door. That's how the US got in this predicament in the first place.
America and China both want to be the world leader in AI. Europe, according to von der Leyen, wants to be the world leader in regulating AI. Way to go.
