Many great creators in literature, music, the visual arts, etc. have often reported that they didn't understand their creations while they were creating them, or after. They were mere channels or stenographers. AI will follow suit.

A machine running algorithms is not creativity. A machine lacks connection to the ether of existence, quantum flow of all that is, or what ever you want to call it enabling the spectrum of telepathy, empathy, laws of attraction, etc., which often contribute to genuine creativity.
