For 10 years I had a well-paid job where all I did was translate what the workers did to the programmers and vice-versa. The programmers thought that the workers first responsibility was to fit in with them rather than the customers.

It's closer than you'd think. In the last few years we've seen major growth in the NLP field. It's to the point where if you told someone about it a few years ago they would have said, "it's not even close."

Programming is literally being able to give meaningful instructions to a computer and have it carry them out. It's the closest thing we have to magic. I don't know why people don't want to learn this stuff.

+1 to this comment. Programming has become so much more approachable these days, and there are frameworks/libraries for pretty much everything these days. People just have to pick the one that closely aligns to their needs, and build on top.
