They will stop if freedom of speech is valued. Part of the disconnect is that those of us who value it think it is self-evident, we need to do the work to explain why it is necessary to protect the very things those who engage in cancel culture care about.
Those who take part in cancel mobs need to face consequences for it, because they won't stop until they do.
