It's a tragedy that the masses have lost trust in the experts. It wouldn't have happened if the experts had kept their politics out of their pronouncements.

The naked careersism of many experts has cost them credibility. And it is indeed tragic that serious credentials - especially the MD and PhD degrees - have lost status as certain doctors and scientists have tried to exploit political circumstances for their own gain.

It would have helped if institutions hadn't allowed frauds and specious sophists into their ranks and in some cases completely dominate them and subvert them and their mission from within with absolute garbage

I think politicians and bad science journalism would have had the same result regardless. Many people can't tell the difference between a science journalist and a scientist.
