I think in many Western countries where the concept of empathy for other races or cultures tends to be higher you see a higher prevalence of this derangement. It preys on the aspirational goals of egalitarian goodwill and fairness and twists them.
Critical race theory is a uniquely American derangement, because no country is as obsessed with race as America. But because of America's cultural dominance, it has spread to countries where it makes even less sense.

I read once where a Christian cross was removed to shield it from view of immigrating Muslims lest they see it and have their emotions inflamed. Similar to CRT. The sentiment is based, not on selfish ethnocentrism, but its opposite - a hyperfocus on not offending and inclusivity.

Getting out of the American context will help get a better understanding. Racism is not a European or white invention, thinking so is in a way racist. It is part of a cluster of group preference behaviours that are present everywhere. Only by understanding can we start fixing.
