If you buy something and the merchant tries to shortchange you, there is a right answer, whether you are white, black or whatever. You want the right dosage from your doctor; nothing "white" there. You want airplane design to use the right numbers; nothing "white" involved.

Aren't most answers in engineering +/- 10% as good as best guess on assumptions made? Also, engineering has multiple solutions to the same design problem. There are are correct answers to pure math, but engineering is more flexible in general.
