That explains the existence of microprocessors *retrospectively*, but nobody could have predicted them before their invention. That would have taken knowledge nobody had yet.
I'm thinking more in terms of (1) what we aspire to have (smarter, faster, etc.), and (2) how a technology will evolve once we have it, e.g., semiconductors will keep shrinking, the Internet will lead to social media, etc.
