Algorithms that make no a priori distinctions between input variables are provably unbiased. That includes pretty much all of computer science. Remember this next time you see a story about a supposedly biased algorithm.

My God man, no. Self-selection, survival bias, and collidor variables are all things that bias an estimate of the effect of features on the target, which is what people are raking about when talking about biased algorithms.

Wha? You're saying certain algorithms are provably "unbiased" in the sense that they can't systemically produce unjustified race and gender disparities? It really seems like you're just bluffing about having a coherent point here.
