A good measure of equality in an economy is: how many products are the same for everyone, vs. better for the rich? By this measure, today's tech companies are major engines of equality.

Not such a good measure. One should also critically look at how many products meet the needs of everyone vs. just meeting the needs of the rich.

Such a blanket generalization is clearly wrong. More & more tech companies primary goals seem to be to grow fast & be valued high, whether or not there is market fit. Not to solve problems addressing everyone's needs.
