@pmddomingos can I inquire your views on the origin of humanity? Are you Creationist or do you place a high prob. weight on some form of Neo-Darwinism? -- I think folks are skeptical of science, in many cases, because it conflicts w/ their belief systems.
I believe in evolution. You're right about belief systems; it's true on both the left and right.

1) Personally I'm impressed w the capacity science has to *sometimes* get folks to genuinely move past their cherished belief systems due to the power of clear evidence & concise explanations thereof. Few other aspects of human culture/society can do so as effectively/reliably.

2) But as a pretty far-left anarcho-socialist scientist, I'm frustrated w/ science-distortion on both sides of the US politics spectrum for sure...
