Reading this article something seemed off to me, so I did a spot check. The article states that "June’s killings [in Baltimore], which eclipse those of June 2019, include ...". I found it odd that the article, which reports many statistics, does not mention numbers here.

As it turns out "eclipse" should be taken loosely in this context. A news story from around the same time mentions that there were 134 killings as of June, as compared to 128 the year before.https://baltimore.cbslocal.com/2020/06/03/baltimore-2020-homicide-rate-latest/ …
